When growing up we all have a dream of what we want to be or to do in future. For most of us these dreams vanish along the way and we end up in a completely different path.
One person who never forgot her dreams was Joy Karambu popularly known as Kawira. She is living her childhood dream as an actress and radio presenter.
The naïve high school girl from Meru is not naïve at all in real life though she is as determined as ‘Kawira’.
She may have been naïve at some point when she was swindled by an event organizer but she is wiser now.
Kawira has had to adapt to being in the public limelight and having people always wanting to chat with her. Despite her efforts to disguise herself in wigs, her fans always spot her.
Citizen’s show, ‘Papa Shirandular’ has opened doors for Kawira in the media fraternity as she was featured in Sakata 3 and is also in another show in K24 television (Pan’gan’ga).
Relating to success Kawira believes, “Success is about changing people’s lives. It is about making their lives better than you found them,” she told True Love in a recent interview.
For anyone to become successful in the media industry they meet with numerous discouragements.
To deal with the discouragements Kawira tends to stay away from pessimists and works towards keeping herself happy.
As for her good looks, she maintains it by eating healthy, drinking plenty of water and staying fit. She has a very simple schedule.
To sum it up, Kawira has a short term goal of changing the lives of at least 5,000 girls in various high schools in Kenya through her mentorship and inspirational talks.
And from all of us here we say….Good Job So Far!
