The author of this interesting article quickly points out that you need to get your head out of the gutter.

“No, I am not talking about sex here. I am referring to the magical connection that will make the interviewer like you quickly without him/her knowing what them.”

Still clueless on what he is talking about?

“You need to master this art well if you want to be highly successful at your interview session,” reads the article which adds that, “It is a well-known fact that when we communicate, our brain will pick up verbal language around 25% or less, while the nonverbal is in the range of 60 to 90%.”

Have a look at these three tips that are extremely powerful to make the interviewer be mesmerized by you.

Tip #1: The Handshake.

This is the only time that you make body contact with the interviewer.

Therefore, learn this well.

When shaking hands, the most important point is that your hand and the interviewer’s hand must meet in a vertical manner. That means your palm is perpendicular to the floor.

If the interviewer’s palm is skewed to facing the floor, gently turn his or her hand to become perpendicular. The action that the hand signal is sending is that if one’s palm is more inclined to face the floor, then that person is dominating.

If one’s palm is more skewed to facing the ceiling, the signal that is sent out is that you are submissive.

In an interview, we want the playing field to be neutral so that both parties are open-minded.

You have to practise this so that it appears natural. Get a friend and ask him or her to shake hands with you. He will intentionally face the palm down and up.

You have to straighten the hand without looking at the handshake.

Tip #2: Using hand gestures to project openness and likable.

Imagine you visit a friend and when he opens the door, he greets you.

Scenario A… He points his forefinger at you and say, “Hi Joe, long time no see.”

Scenario B… ” Hi Joe, long time no see.” But this time his arms are extended and his palms are facing slightly towards the sky, as if he wants to hug.

You decide… same words to greet you, but different body language.

Similarly, when talking to the interviewer, use hand gestures sparingly and make sure that the palms are facing upwards.

Tip #3: Exude confidence

There is a hand action that will make you feel confident automatically.

Here’s how you do it.

Open up your fingers

Bring the two hands together to touch the tips of the fingers of both hands. Disengage about an inch apart and touch again. Do this for a few times.

Soon, the interviewer will feel drawn to your positive energy and he has no clue on what triggered the emotion.

Good luck.

Are these pointers weird for you or will you be practicing them any time soon?
