Spending more than you earn is something that should not happen at any given time. Like how our first salaries taught us how to buy what we need rather what we want, this should be the virtue.

Learning the control of needs and wants will provide us with an opportunity to free-up enough finances, save and invest.

2. Fail fast and move on

Failing faster and dusting up is one thing you need to master in your thirties. Fail faster and ensure you get to learn something out of it. There is no shaming in failing, and if anything, it’s inevitable in life, how you bounce back is what counts. When you are pursuing something and the outcomes are not being favorable, know when to stop and move on.

Holding on an already dying hustle to prove others wrong, will only work against your resources and time. Learn how to do things faster as this will lead you to success faster.

3. Challenge the authority

Challenging the authority is a good attribute one should possess. Question things that sound too convenient, always trust your gut feeling and stand up for what you believe in. take charge and do things better than your competition as this is a key ingredient for success. Throughout history, many people who have made groundbreaking success have challenged that which was presented to them. We should not let our fears restrict us from challenging that authority that we see as flawed.

4. Organize properly

Success comes with a lot of duties and responsibilities, this call for one to be able to organize themselves properly. Prioritization skills are very important for you to be good at organizing yourself. Taking a bold step to organization calls for putting on hold that every weekend drinking with friends to giving your career more priority. Without such sacrifice, don’t expect to see anything forthcoming from your little efforts any time soon.

5. Maintain important networks

Self-independent is an admired virtue that shows the world you got it. But if you need to be successful, you will need to have a network of support. We all have different perspectives and opinions, but it’s important not to lose friends, colleagues or acquaintances over such. Learn to value your social bonds and connections as you move along. This are the bonds that will see you acquire valuable allies that will always be there during hard times.

6. Rely on persistence

Trying too hard is an effective way of doing things, rather bank on persistence. All successful people we know we can attest to their persistence when things got thick and the tunnel was pitch dark. Whenever things go wrong we as humans tend to start self-doubt, get afraid, insecure and throw-in the towel. Rather than dwelling on the failure, review your strategy from all the possible angles as well as ask your close friends on what needs to be improved. This strategy assessment is something you should time after time until you get the main switch that works for success comes with persistence.

7. Work on your flaws

Work on your flaws and be proud of yourself. As we grow older, we get to learn about our flaws through the numerous interactions we have at work or outside work. Learning your flaws, despite your friends tolerating them, does not mean you get comfortable. Success calls for self-assessment without being so kind to yourself. Write your flaws down and get to work on them one after the other in readiness to success.

8. Become calculative and resourceful

Impersonating someone who is smart and successful is not the same as being that person. Know what kind of options you have at your disposal and work to create more additional options for future use if the need ever be. People who are calculative and resourceful don’t go spending their money immediately; they look at all possible alternatives especially those that are cheaper. Always remember that the best methods are those that return the most satisfying results with least investment.

9. Figure out how to adopt

Responsiveness to change ensures your survival in the cut-throat circle. We all love the comfort corners we have made for ourselves by wanting to work in a field we love and excel at. Ever thought what else you can adapt to in case your current skill became obsolete? No? Okay, your funeral if such a time ever comes. One can be talented at something but without the ability to adapt, you will not be successful. Knowing how to adopt does not necessarily imply that you trash that which governs you. It means applying that which you learned and apply the knowledge somewhere. Your adaptability dictates your success.

10. Seek second opinion

Knowing that you are not the most skillful or competent person in your field is a sign you on the verge of success. Always seek constructive feedback from a fellow business person, mentor or that person who you trust and always has sound feedback. Thinking that your product is great? Seek advice from consumers to ensure that the product meets their needs.
