The Company is a water service provider owned by County Government of Kiambu providing water and sanitation services in Kiambaa sub county .In order to strengthen our management team and leadership we invite applications from qualified, competent, proactive, self -driven and innovative individuals to fill the following key position within our company.

To ensure that the HR and administrative department provides the needed and appropriate support to the key functions of the company as defined by our vision and mission and promoting the interests of the employer to enhance growth and sustainability of the company.

Responsibilities for the HR Officer Job

  • Development and periodic reviews of staff scheme of service and review of the company HR policy document.
    Management of HR records and registry.
  • Maintaining the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Maintaining organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.
  • Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
  • Maintaining a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
  • Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
  • Maintaining employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings.
  • Maintaining management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records.
  • Completes human resource operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintaining human resource staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

HR Officer Job Qualifications

  • The successful candidate must be a member and registered with IHRM and should have practical skills and experience in staff management and specifically have:
  • A degree in Human Resource or related field from a recognized institution with at least 5 years of experience in a similar position in service industry.
  • Knowledge of water reforms will be an added advantage.
  • At least three years relevant experience in a similar position.
  • Must have high level of integrity, confidentiality, excellent administrative and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
