5 Signs You Are Unhappy At Your Job & What To Do

How long have you been working or slaving away at your current role? Has it been 3 years, 4 or maybe 10 years?

No matter how long you have been at your job, if you wake up every morning and curse about your day, then you are most likely not happy in your job.

Here are 5 signs beyond those morning blues that confirm you are not happy in your job.

5 Signs you are Not Happy in Your Job

1. Your Sunday evenings are time to worry about Monday

If every Sunday evening and night you feel anxious about the following day because you have to be at work, then you clearly are not happy in your job.

And this does not mean you dreading Monday because the weekend is over and going to work bums you out –like every millennial out there – no, I mean that anxiety in your stomach that makes you lack sleep.

If you find yourself not having fun when you are supposed to be on free time, then it may be time to check yourself before you topple off and ruin yourself.

2. Helping your colleagues feels like a chore

How do you react when your colleagues come to you for assistance on a project or when a new employee is assigned to you for guidance?

Do you cringe and feel annoyed because you don’t think that should be your problem?

If you feel that helping out your colleagues is like a chore you’d rather not bother yourself else, then you are clearly not happy in your job.

3. Your salary, title and responsibilities are now a big deal

While it is important to care about your salary and responsibilities, if you are being too competitive about your title and comparing it to others or feeling bad that someone’s salary is way higher, you might have a problem.

Whenever we are unhappy, it is only natural to try and control other factors around us and try to find blame in each one.

But the truth is, the real problem is within us and until you are ready to see that, you might stay unhappy longer than you think.

4. You no longer trust people and small things tend to get to you

When someone is unhappy with something, trust seems to slip through the window and it only takes a very small thing for one to get annoyed.

So, if every time a colleague tries to assist you or make conversation you wonder what they are up to, then this should be a red flag.

Also, if whenever your boss calls you out on something you keep wondering what they are plotting behind your back, it may be time to check how happy you are in your job.

If you are not happy in your job, you will probably always have something to be suspicious about.

5. Your workdays feel longer and postponing work is now a habit

This sign that you are not happy in your job goes without saying.

If 8 hours at work are starting to feel more like 12 hours and another 4 hours of sleep to continue the cycle, then you are clearly not happy in your job.

Also, if now for one reason or the other you try to do your work but can’t do it until the very last minute when you know your deadline is almost up, you are having a problem.
