Find Out!! 5 Ways To Improve Work Life Balance in 2017

It’s one thing to look for a job for many months to finally getting it, and it’s another thing to loose yourself in the job.

Having some work to do is a great deal and you will probably spend most of your life in the work place. But as human beings, we were not just created to work and be in the office 24/7, as a matter of fact, we go to work to fend for our families and ourselves.

It’s of great importance to give your job 100% of your effort and time , but all the other aspects of your life are as important too.

This is where work-life balance comes into place.

How then can you be a more holistic person?

How can you incorporate all the activities you enjoy like sports, music, hobbies, Church functions, family time or attending events together with your work?

Have a look at this 5 great tips that will help you balance out work and life in 2017

1. Enjoy your weekends

Ensure that you allocate enough time within the week to do all your office work so that you are free during the weekend to rest and enjoy your free time.

You can also decide not to look at your emails or any work related stuff on the weekends so that you can take a much needed break.

2. Avoid distractions at work

On the other hand, devote yourself fully to your job when you are there.

Turn off distractions such as your phone which might hinder your productivity at work. Handle all other business that doesn’t concern work at home.

This is true balance.

3. Take short breaks at work

During lunch time for example, take a walk outside or eat outside the office. Go and bask in the sun before you resume work.

Call up a friend and catch up with them. Better still, take a nap if time allows.

Taking a break from your desk will give you a sense of relaxation and a new wave of energy for the remaining part of the day.

4. Set aside time for family.

Purpose to spend time with your people even if it’s once a week.

Alternatively, you can plan to always eat supper together and catch up on the day’s activities.

If your family lives away from you, making time to visit them will be a great idea that will help you have a sense of belonging and closeness with the people who matter the most.

5. Say no to activities that drain your energy

Maybe it’s being online all the time that makes you waste a lot of time at work and leave you feeling drained. It could also be idle talk that you engage in with colleagues or friends.

In order to have a great balanced out life, set good priorities.

Treat your time as a precious commodity.

The last thing you want is to feel drained and tired which will in turn affect your overall productivity and relationships.
