Stern Warning To Kenyans Looking For Jobs In Turkey

The Turkish government has warned Kenyans against Turkey job offers posted on the internet.

The govt has said that the  fraudsters share information through emails and social media using names of prestigious institutions like Turkish Ministry of National Education and HSBC Bank-Turkey.

In a statement sent to newsrooms, the embassy said they target innocent people in the website: www.turkeyimmigrationservices.tk.

The embassy said the website does not carry Turkish internet domain suffix (.tr) and the .tk is not for
Turkey.

“Kenyans can seek employment in Turkey only if they have officially issued work visas from the Turkish Embassy in Nairobi. No other agency or institution has the authority to issue work visas other than Turkish Embassies and Consulates abroad,” the statement said.

The fraudsters, the embassy said, request payments through money transfer services. “Money transfer other than Kenyan Banks are never used in official transactions,” the statement said.

The statement added that visa fees are payable only in cash to the Turkish Embassy in Nairobi and official receipts issued by the Consular section.
