A cover letter is a very critical tool that will persuade the reader to think about you and be persuaded to read your CV. Some people think that they are more important than CVs. A fact I’m sure many will argue about. Cover letters can help set you apart from the rest of the applicants.

It also help draw attention to your most unique attributes while explaining that you a good candidate for the job.

I am writing to apply for the position of Human Resources Manager which was advertised in the Media on 26th March 201X. I have a Masters of Arts in Human Resources and a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management from IHRM.

I have in excess of five years experience as a manager of Human Resource and a total of twelve years in all areas of human resource management, including experience in working in an organization that had trade unions. I am well conversant with OSHA, DIT, The New Labour Laws, The Trade Union Act, WIBA and the various laws that pertain to Employment in Kenya. These experiences I gained while working at Company X, Company Y and more recently at Company X, where I currently serve as Human Resources Manager.  My years of experience in human resources at various levels ranging from officer to manager, have allowed me to grow and develop professionally and as a leader.

My demonstrated achievements, training and experience render me qualified and competent to make an effective and useful contribution to the HR Manager’s position within your organization. I am excited about the prospect of joining a team which will grow and develop though the East Africa region and to play a meaningful role in advancing the goals of the organization.
