Shock as HR Executive With Fake Degree Qualifications Cons Employer Ksh7.4M

How would you feel if you discovered that the HR Manager or Officer who recruited you or threw your application in the dustbin was after all a fake?

They are the ones who verify if your ‘papers’ are authentic, but how cunning would one be to hold such a powerful position and yet themselves they are not qualified?

It all happened in the United Kingdom recently when 30 year old Wade Jordan a HR Executive with a top biotechnology firm was described by the police as “every employer’s worst nightmare”  after claiming almost £50,000 (Ksh 7.4M ) in fraudulent expense claims.

He is said to have secured his job at the top biotechnology firm using a fake qualification with an MA in Human Resource Management from Manchester Metropolitan University. His lie was only uncovered after police launched an investigation after the company became suspicious of his expenses claims.

Before he was caught, Jordan managed to claim £40,000 (Ksh 5.8M)for training courses which weren’t approved or he didn’t attend, £5000 (740K) for travel and £500 (74K) for hotel accommodation following a Christmas party.

Now the 30 year old has been jailed for 3 years after admitting fraud and perverting the course of justice.

Question is, Just how many HR quacks do we have in Kenya today? Something to mull about this afternoon don’t you think……..
