Graduate Shares Funny Moment In a Job Interview Which Worked For The Best

By David Kinyua,

What embarrassing thing have you done in an interview lately. David Kinyua recently shared his and this is how embarrassing and funny it was

“I had just graduated from the university and was going for my first interview at a financial institution along Nairobi’s Koinange Street. Like most people, I was a bit nervous and tried to ensure everything was exactly as it should be. I read all the material I thought they would draw their questions from, had my supper and went to bed early, after ironing my white shirt crisp and preparing my favourite dark blue suit. Nothing could go wrong.

On the material day, I woke up and left in good time, managing to get to town at least 45 minutes before the scheduled interview. I alighted at the bus station and slowly made my way to the offices.

I got to the building within half an hour and on my way in, noticed the reflective window. One least sprucing up wouldn’t hurt, would it?

Using the window as a mirror, I inspected myself, from my eyebrows, tie, all the way to my shoes. Which I brushed using my socks. I was good to go when I heard loud laughter from the other side of the window. I hurriedly left for my interview.

Once I got to the offices, to my horror, I found an amused group of people huddled at a corner, still laughing their ribs off. From where they were standing, I could see what was going on outside through the tinted glass – the same one that was reflective from outside.

Turns out, they were laughing at this funny character who, to borrow a phrase ‘thought he was too smart.’ That turns out I was.
Luckily, I got the job although to date, as reminded to go re-evaluate myself outside every time I have a slow day in the office.
