7 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Put Off Till Tomorrow What You Can Today
“Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.” Is a famous quote by Benjamin Franklin but you find that most Kenyans are faced with the problem of waiting until a later date; we keep pushing what we can do today to the next day and then again to the next.
We have seen this from how we do our taxes, last minute shopping for children to go back to school, registration for voters cards all this are ignored and pushed to the last day and if the last day is not enough, we extend the deadline. C’mon, say it is not so.
“This is one factor many of us live with, and is the reason for pulling us down from climbing the ladder of success, knowingly or unknowingly,” says Caroline Jalango a life coach for unstoppable women.
In seven reasons to stop procrastinating today, the author Caroline Jalango says
1.Find out what you can do.
When you procrastinate you limit yourself from finding out what you are capable of doing and achieving. “When you don’t procrastinate, you get a chance to be the best you can be. You discover what you abilities are, how far you can stretch and what you can do,” says Caroline.
2.Make an impact on other people’s lives.
By procrastinating there are many things you fail to do thus you result to attending to them when you could probably be sharing important things with family and friends. Caroline says “stop procrastinating others are waiting to be enriched and empowered by you.”
3.Accomplish something
By not procrastinating you get to finish whatever it is you could be working on. “Acting on timely basis allows you to finally accomplish something. The project or dream or goal you have been working for the last few years need to be completed,” writes Caroline
4.Move on to other things.
“When you don’t procrastinate, you accomplish things and move on to other fresh and exciting things,” Caroline says.
5.Get yourself out of unpredictable way of life
Procrastinating things disorganize your life in that things are done in a shamble in no particular order. “Dreaming and constantly talking about future actions you plan to do will not help. Do what needs to be done as soon as you can,” advices Caroline
6.Manage time better
Push things to another day always make you feel like you have all the time in the world, it’s like you get more than 24 hours a day, but that’s just because you are not doing what you are supposed to be doing, thus the seemingly free time. “Acting on thing that need to get done clears the clutter from your life, mind and schedule, “adds Caroline.
7.Conquer your fears and take risk.
“The longer you procrastinate on overcoming your fears, the bigger your fear becomes in your eyes. The bigger your fear ,the more terrified you become and the more you get tempted to procrastinate, minimize your fears ,stop procrastinating ,act now and achieve your dreams,” says Caroline
If you are a victim of procrastination and most of us are, you now have reasons to plan better and work on what you are supposed to do now.
