Bosses …they come in all manner of temperament, but it does not matter which one you get, bottom line is you cannot stay without one if you want to keep your job.

Jennifer Mutisya who works for an Event Management company at Nakuru feels like she has the most unfair boss in the world.

“I have never had a weekend off since I started working here and yet when signing my contract we had an agreement that every second weekend of the month I get an off. She keeps saying that if she is able to manage being at work for the whole month without an off, so should I. I feel she is being inconsiderate because we do not have the same life style. Needless to say, this has led to the death of my social life,” she complains to a friend.

No matter how Ms Mutisya’s views her boss, they will never be equals not just because she is the employer and her the employee.

If you don’t do it, you’re lazy. But if your boss doesn’t do it, he’s too busy.

If you take a stand, you’re being high-headed. But if your boss does it, he’s being firm.

If you overlooked a rule of etiquette, you’re being rude. But if your boss skips a few rules, he’s being original.

If you do something without being told, you’re overstepping your authority. But if your boss does the same thing, he’s taking initiative.

If you’re on a day off sick, you’re ‘always’ sick. But if your boss is a day off sick, he must be very ill.

If you’re out of the office, you’re wandering around. But if your boss is out of the office, he’s on business.

If you apply for leave, you must be going for an interview. But if your boss applies for leave, it’s because he’s overworked.
