“Bensouda , Michuki…..” Hilarious Nicknames Kenyans Have For Their Bosses

Do you have that funny secret nickname that you and your colleagues call your boss when he is not around or surprisingly when he is there?

Majority of Kenyans do and none would want to know the boss reactions if he ever found out.

Here is a list of from anonymous employees which worker preferred the boss never knew.

1. Bensouda

“My coworkers and I came up with this name because she really behaves like a prosecutor. Whenever we had a fall out with some of the colleagues, she would summon us all in her office,” says Willy Onjula.

“She would then proceed in mentioning all of our mistakes (some of which we were not aware) since working for that company and give us all an opportunity to defend ourselves,” he adds.

2. Pastor

Margret Keah remembers how she and her colleagues branded the boss based on his grooming.

“Our boss would always dress in black and white striped suits which is the Sunday best attire for most pastors.

Wearing it even on Fridays bothered us a lot so that automatically qualified him to be one.”

Another pastor element in him was how he groomed his hair which we thought was rather funny and unusual for a boss,” she adds.

“Where else have you seen a boss who has blow out on his hair and applies a gel?” she asks.

3. Michuki

“With all due respect to the memory of the late John Michuki, This is a result of the way he would stare at people in group meetings, with these cold, gray, emotionless shark eyes.

You could just feel his judging every word said, waiting to pounce and devour you in front of the whole staff like that one stray fish. We thought that nick name would fit him properly,” says Sarah Wavua.

4. Stingy guy

A rough description of a stingy is one who is mean and unwilling to spend.

“We would have to account for everything in the office including how much sugar we consumed in the office tea.

He would want to know just how much electricity was used in a day and threatened to deduct our salaries if the bill was higher than expected,” says Edith Kisero.

“The funny thing was one day one of my coworkers asked whether “stingy” had arrived and I responded with a shrug but luckily the boss did not notice!” she says.
