Speaking to a former employee of the organization who worked for the position of a Nutritionist, she shares her insights on the salary and benefits allowances.

“I was based in Kakuma refugee camp where I gave nutritional counseling to the malnourished refugee children in the camp,” she says.

She continues saying, “I was paid a net salary of Ksh 90,000- Ksh 95,000 and with other benefits included. That all added up together, my benefits ranged from Ksh 30,000 to 50,000 including my house and airtime allowance.”

“As much as staff training is concerned, my former employers made sure that we each received thorough training. The organization gave me a chance to further my career to the next level as I was able to learn new skills dealing with refugees,” she emphasizes.

She also adds that as much as the experience was challenging it was very rewarding because it gave her the opportunity to work with the one of the top NGOs in the world.

“My salary and allowances are double what I used to get at IRC as far as the experience and skills gained are concerned,” she says.

She however thinks that this is a great chance for job seekers to explore their careers and find their passion in their field of study.
