Job Opportunities in 2015! Domino Pizza International Set To Open in Kenya

One of America’s largest food chain Domino Pizza is set to open more branches into the Kenyan market.

According to The Standard, the restaurant which already began operations in the country will open more food chains in the East Africa market region.

Eric Andre, co-founder Om Nom Nom which is the Kenyan franchisee for Domino’s Pizza says “The appeal lies in the city’s expanding middle class, growth in the number of shopping malls and the availability of a young talented workforce.”

This is a sign of relief to the hospitality industry which has been hit hard by constant security lapses that have cost the jobs of many.

However, its launch is likely to create more job opportunities for Kenyans as several food chains have already set foot in the market.

What does this mean for job seekers particularly in the hospitality industry?

“There are always job opportunities for people in the hospitality industry regardless of any security concern, says Eunice Chebet, a Brand Manager at a medium sized communications firm.

“This is also good chance for those seeking an opportunity to jumpstart their careers,” she says.

“I did my hospitality course three years ago and I am still looking for a job,” says Barbra Wanga, a graduate a middle level college.

“However, I will be happy to apply should there be any job opportunity be available.

Besides, with the current state of unemployment in the country, I don’t think we as job seekers have a choice to choose jobs,” she concludes.

“Our industry was hit hard when some hotels in the country decided to close in some parts of the country because of constant attacks,” says Isaac Mairura, a hotelier at a medium sized restaurant in the CBD.

He also adds that, “it is very important for young job seekers to be given first priority in the recruitment process.”

Babra adds that “some jobs pay worse and I think we are far much better off when people work for restaurants.

In her own perspective “a foreign company offering jobs guarantee transparency so I will not miss to apply for any position which arises.”
