Peter Kenneth is no new name to all of us. He is the man who was bold enough to vie for presidency without a long political history and background.

As the Elections draw nearer, Peter Kenneth has declared that he is running for Nairobi’s Gubernatorial position.

With his new political aspirations in mind, knowing more about Peter Keneth will be beneficial for you to know him as a normal man, and possibly give you an insight into his background and ultimately know him on a whole new level.

1. He is a Banker

His Career has not always been in politics.

Peter Keneth has been in the Banking Industry for very many years.

He has worked for the Nationwide Fince Company.

He has also worked for Prudential Bank, where he worked for 10 years and even got promoted to the position of Bank Manager.

Alongside that, he worked for Kenya  Reinsurance Company up until 2002, when he decided to get into politics.

2. His Education…

He was a bright student in school 

Peter Kenneth was able to get admission in one of the most prestigious schools, Starehe Boys High School.

After his Secondary Education, he was admitted into the University of Nairobi where he acquired a Masters Degree in Law.

3. Peter Kenneth was a Professional Footballer.

Does that come as a shocker to you?

Well, believe it or not, Peter Kenneth played football in his youth, just like Churchill. 

He played from a football club called Reunion and while in school,  he played in the position of a goal keeper.

Unfortunately, he quit the sport when he fractured his arm.

4. Brought up by a Single Mum

Peter Kenneth’s life is not as rosy as many might think , and like everyone else, he too has gone through some challenges in life.

In his childhood, Peter Kenneth  grew up without a father and was raised solely by his mother.

It was quite a hard life for him as he was raised in a single room where he and his mum lived.

The hard life inspired and motivated Keneth to  work hard and hope for a better future.

Indeed, he is living it today!

5. His Political Journey

In 2002, Peter Kenneth came out as a political aspirant for the Gatanga Parliamentary seat.

He garnered the most votes at during the elections and served as the M.P of Gatanga from 2002.

With his successful leadership as an M.P, Peter Kenneth was appointed as an Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Planning & National Development.

6. Some of his Achievements Include…

During his time as an M.P, Peter Kenneth’s Constituency was declared the best in terms of funds management.

He was able to effectively and wisely distribute resources for his Constituency, which saw great developments in Gatanga, where he served.

7. Family and Life

Peter Kenneth is married to his wife Anne, and together they have 2 children namely Andrew n Andrea.

Alongside that, Peter Kenneth is a Staunch Christian.

He is thought by many to be a more God-fearing leader in Kenya.

Currently, Peter Kenneth has expressed interest in running for the Nairobi County Gubernatorial position in the August 2017 Elections.
