Salary Of HR Professionals With 2-3 Years Of Experience Plus Free Sample CV

After graduating, we are all looking to land that big job with a big salary. A big salary that you have already predetermined and you are hell bent on getting it no matter what. But your predetermined salary and what the employer is willing to offer are never anywhere close most of the times.

This is because employers are never willing to pay a high salary when they don’t know what you are bringing on board. An employer will want to see what you have to offer, before they can increase your salary after the probation period of your employment.

Before jobs are advertised, employers have already set the salary for the position. But they will always ask about your salary expectations. This question is meant to evaluate if you are over ambitious or you are practical enough to understand how the job market works.

“If you do not have experience, then the amount you mention to recruiters should not be outrageous”, advices Muthoni Ndegwa, a Recruitment Manager at Corporate Staffing Services. She advises it’s important to study the market and do research before you can name a salary figure.

So, you are at entry level with 2-3 years experience in the HR profession. How much money should you expect in a job? Before we can discuss the amount, it is advised to note that different organizations and industries pay differently.

You might be working for an organization that pays you KSh70,000 per month while your former campus classmate with the same years of experience is earning KSh 55,000 per month in a different organization in the same industry or a different industry.

“2-3 years of experience means you are either a HR Officer or Assistant. You can expect to earn between Ksh 50,000 to 75,000 as you keep proving your skills”, says Muthoni. The more you gain experience and prove your skills at work, the better your chances at a salary increment.

Remember that different organizations and industries pay differently.
