Requirements for the Business Development Job

• Ability to navigate the tender process – application, filling in of data, research, submissions etc
• Ability to set SMART goals to enable the company to grow
• Ability to carry out research fast and within a particular timeframe and give results based on the data collected.
• Properly prepared results from the research in word documents as well as graphical representations. – pie charts and graphs etc
• He/she should help in raising funds for the company – document preparation and research while looking for funding
• Should assist in product launching by identifying avenues for product launch e.g. via radio or TV or newsletters etc
• Should be able to prepare content for product promotion and conduct the promotion and follow up e.g. via social media (facebook, twitter etc)
• Assist in researching the market and finding out which new areas the company can go into in order to maximize profits
• Review on the current product offerings from the company and find out ways we can improve the product and to whom we can sell to.
• Review information from our current website and find ways of improving the information so as to speak directly to our prospective clients as well as existing clients
• Review current product pricing and see if we are competitive in the market and find new ways of charging clients for us to remain profitable.
• Review the current employees and find gaps which we would need to fill by hiring employees with better expertise.
• Have a good understanding of technology and technology trends so as to understand the current products and package it better for a prospective client
