Technical University of Kenya (TUK) has been considered the best technical institution of higher learning. It is a public university that was chartered in January 2013 by then-president Mwai Kibaki.

1. Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology
This course provides students with a wide range of software, technical and technological ICT skills required by industry.
It aims at producing scholars and practitioners with a range of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) knowledge and skills to offer competitive leadership for the national and international market, and cultivating positive attitude towards ICT knowledge and its dynamics in a view to produce graduates capable of adapting to the changing global needs.

The basic admission requirement which is set to be at least an average grade of C+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with  main Cluster Subjects being Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
2. Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering
As a technology degree, it builds on the practically oriented training at diploma level.
The curriculum for the degree of Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering is therefore designed to produce graduates with sufficient theoretical knowledge, design skills and practical experience that will enable them fit into any area of Civil Engineering practice.
Candidates legible for this course should have a minimum of two (2) principal passes in Mathematics and Physics and a subsidiary level pass in Chemistry with a credit pass in English at O-Level, diploma (TEP) or Equivalent or diploma (Technical Education Project) in Civil Engineering of Kenya Polytechnical University or an equivalent qualification.
3. Bachelor of Technology (Electronics and Computer Engineering)
This is another one of the  courses offered at Technical University of Kenya.

Make a stop-over at TUK. The basic admission requirement shall be the minimum entry requirements set for entry into the public universities, which is at least an average grade of C+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
In addition, applicants are expected to have obtained at least a grade C+ in each of the cluster subjects in following cluster of subjects in KCSE examinations: Cluster Subjects being Mathematics Physics and Chemistry

4. Bachelor of Technology in Applied Chemistry (Industrial Chemistry)
Candidates with a Diploma in Analytical Chemistry (KNEC) from the Kenya Polytechnical University or an equivalent qualification are eligible for this programme.
Also those who possess the Diploma in Technology in Analytical Chemistry or a Higher Diploma in Analytical Chemistry (KNEC) or an equivalent qualification are eligible for exemption from the 1st Year of study.
The candidates shall be allowed to join the course in the second year of study.
The may be expected to take any courses of study in the first year of study on the programme that they might had not covered in their earlier course of study to the satisfaction of Senate.
Any extra courses to be taken to fulfill this requirement may be taken during a preliminary or a regular semester as the Senate may approve.
5. Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology:- (Industrial, Medical, and Agricultural Options)
Candidates must with a minimum of C+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations qualify for the programme.
In addition, they must satisfy Kenya Polytechnical University admission requirements. Prospective candidates falling into the categories listed below shall be eligible for admission.
A candidate must have obtained a minimum grade of C+ with a C+ in Biology, Chemistry, English/Kiswahili and Mathematics/Physics at KCSE level.
