How To Successfully Change The Way You Think About Money

Have you ever wondered how the most successful people today think about money? Truth is, the rich think about money in a very different way compared to the poor.
According to Robert Gouge, “the rich’s mindset of wealth is the outcome of the amount of money they have.”
That is why you need to change the way you think about money if you are struggling to make it.
In this article, check out some tips to help you understand the rich mindset about money and how to adapt them too
1. Think about saving
Instead of just spending, start thinking of how you start saving our money. Do you ever feel guilty after spending money you had not planned to? If you don’t, then maybe your mind doesn’t really care.
Some people like to save not just because they have a goal in mind, but because saving has become a habit and they really can’t do without saving.

When the rich spend their money on an expense, they tend to feel some guilt. This is because the mind has been set in saving mode. Saving has become a daily habit that they can’t do without it. They have a goal in mind.
2. Think side hustle
Having that white-collar job may be generating you some income but may not supply all your needs. This is why you need a side hustle out of something you are passionate about that will fetch you extra cash.
I was talking to an intern who is working in our neighboring company and she told me she’s being paid 10,000 every month for the next 6 months. It’s from this stipend that she is expected to all handle all her financial responsibilities.
So I asked her how she manages this money. Is it enough? No, but she has to manage it.
To her, she has a side business of selling cookies to her friends and colleagues on orders.
This is how you can develop your sense of money management.
Remember most side businesses are created out of the passion and love of an individual for a certain thing.
3. Don’t overspend
This is one money mistake most people struggle with.  You need to totally fix it as early as now.
You might not want to hear this, but if you keep spending all your money, it is difficult to gain financial freedom and independence you need in the future.
You don’t want to be like the Prodigal Son who squandered all his wealth and went back to his parents left with nothing.

Do not make this grave mistake of squandering all your earnings.
You may end up borrowing from family and friends even before you get your next income and when next you get paid, you have to keep settling a debt and the cycle continues.
4. Have financial goals
What do you want to achieve in the next 1 year? Do you a set goal? If you have none in your twenties, then you are crippling your financial success.
Setting financial goals is important. You should set your priority straight when it comes to financial matters.
The rich know they have to set goals of what they plan to achieve. They define their goals, set a deadline and give themselves a timeline to achieve them.
Not having financial goals, short-term goals or long-term goals is a big money mistake. Set a standard you want to achieve with a time rate.
5. Living beyond your means
This is a common money mistake among young professionals today. If you want to get ahead, you must fix.
Living beyond your means is like renting a house for 15K when you’re earning 20K. This would do nothing good to you but leave your broke and out of cash. It is important to live within your reach to be able to manage your finances.
