Liberis Limited is a dynamic and fast-growing Non-Deposit Taking Microfinance Company based in Mombasa but with a vision to expand to other towns in Kenya. The company specializes in providing flexible and customized financial services to individuals in private and public sectors with an aim of empowering them to financial freedom through provision of quick and fast loans.  Our target clientele includes Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Salaried employees. We provide both unsecured and secured loan in a flexible, efficient and professional manner.

We are currently expanding our operations and are therefore looking to have competent and qualified individuals to fill the above position in Mombasa.

Position Summary

The Recovery Officer will focus on non-performing or delinquent loan accounts and specialize in the recovery processes established by Liberis Limited. The collector is responsible for the administration of delinquency and other reports to senior management. The recovery officer will have heavy interaction with internal and external customers on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• In cooperation with other members of Asset Finance Recovery, identifying overdue clients who have failed to comply with the contractual payment schedule, and where the telephone follow-up deemed not effective.
• Liaising with other professional’s example auctioneers and valuers in order to actualize clients’ instructions, prioritizing the collection assignments in accordance with Liberis collection policy.
• Proposing the best client handling and debt collection strategy to the Recovery team and the Head of Asset Finance Recovery.
• While in the field, identifying and applying most efficient communication tactic persuading the client to close his overdue and return to payment compliance, or repossessing collateral in case all previous communicational attempts have failed.
• Other related duties in connection with handling of collateral in secured loans.
• Preparing the demand letter and ensuring a copy is sent to the instructing client;
• Pursue the debtors for payment;
• Ensuring all documents, correspondences and emails are properly filed in the server at all times and consistently updated in line with the firm’s policy;
• Advising and updating the Clients on all material developments in their matter on a regular basis.
• Collecting fees by preparing weekly/ monthly collection target list for follow up by the Recoveries Manager.

Qualifications

• KCSE Certificate as a minimum
• Previous experience in Debt Recovery.
• Motorbike driver’s license will be an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of Mombasa area and surroundings.
