Company Profile

Our Client is a Microfinance bank with a strong footing in the financial sector.

We are searching for a seasoned and experienced leader to join the company in the position of the Chief Executive Officer.

Role purpose

The CEO will report to the Board of Directors and will  be responsible for providing  leadership as well as effective management of the business so as to achieve the vision, mission, and strategic focus.

Direct and Indirect Reports

Direct – Heads of Finance, Credit, Human Resources, ICT, Business Development

Indirect – Internal Auditor & Risk and Compliance

Responsibilities

  • Strategy Deployment, and quality assurance reviews across the bank portfolio for consistency. Identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Drive bank level strategies and goals, emphasize results and foster cross functional engagement.
  • Drive change management initiatives that are key on all performance indicators.
  • Provide effective team leadership and develop a high performing managerial team.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and recommend solutions aimed at improving the Bank’s productivity, efficiency, and client experience.
  • Developing high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objective.
  • Deliver on the company’s revenue targets, as well as vision of the organization
  • Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions
  • Make high-quality investment decisions to advance the business and increase profits.
  • Risk assessment and financial oversight, consistency and quality, monitoring and reporting controls across the lines of defense.
  • Liaise with Risk Management Internal and External Audit to establish and implement processes, quality standards and review criteria, guidelines, templates, etc.
  • Collaborate with Risk Management to ensure risks associated with project implementations and change events are within the Bank’s risk appetite.
  • Determine and track quality performance measures according to the initiative’s risk and complexity.
  • Monitor quality and proactively provide recommendations to modify processes as internal and external environmental factors change.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in a relevant field, a Master’s Degree is an added advantage
  • Minimum 15 years supervisory experience preferably in the banking sector.
  • Demonstrated mastery of multiple disciplines/processes in relation to the position including finance, revenue management, industry sales and training experience, board relations management, among others.
  • Experience working with Microfinance banks is key added advantage.

  • Strong ability to organize effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly, and communicate clearly
  • A master in execution.
  • Must be computer literate (MS Office, digital savvy etc.).
  • Ability to work effectively with a board of directors, and influence investors positively
  • A strong professional image and high ethical standards and integrity
