Reporting to the Director, MSE Strategy, Planning and Coordination.

Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:- planning, designing and formulating the statistical and economic policies, procedures, practices, systems and processes; analysing and interpreting data and information relating to operations and practices in the Medium and Small Enterprises Sector; developing and implementing methods of collecting and analysing data and information; continuously assessing and prioritizing needs, opportunities and demands for statistical information and provide appropriate Medium and Small Enterprises Sector information.
Further, duties and responsibilities will entail:- Undertaking monthly and quarterly analysis of investment of funds, claims returns, unaudited accounts and new products in MSEA; developing and implementing statistical programmes; promoting learning and reporting statistical findings and lessons; summarising data from Medium and Small Enterprises annual returns; editing and verifying data and returns; developing findings for writing annual reports and analysing accounts and returns.

Qualifications

For appointment to this grade an officer must have:-

  • served as a Planning and Research Officer for a minimum period of eight (8) years in the public service or in a comparable position;
  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:- Education, Economics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, Sociology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Economics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Research Methodology, Sociology, Public Policy, Public Policy and Management or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Proficiency in computer applications;
  • attended a Strategic management Course or an equivalent management course from a recognized institution
  • demonstrated professional competence as reflected in work performance and results.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of the mission, vision, and strategies of MSEA and the ability to clearly interpret and apply role of Micro and Small Enterprise in Kenya’s social economic development and particularly in line with vision 2030 and Big 4 Agenda

In addition, all prospective candidates MUST satisfy the requirements of leadership and integrity as set out in Chapter six (6) of the constitution of Kenya and attach the following documents to their applications:-

  • Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission clearance Certificate (EACC)
  • Kenya Revenue Authority Tax compliance Certificate (KRA)
  • Higher Education Loans Board clearance Certificate(HELB)
  • Certificate of Good Conduct from Criminal Investigation Department (CID)
  • Certificate from Credit Reference Bureau
