We are searching for a Maintenance Technician who shall be responsible for performing basic facility repairs and preventative maintenance when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect buildings, equipment, and appliances for functionality, checking for faults and fixing them where they exist to keep all things running and functioning properly; also, make provision for replacement of old and damaged appliances.
  • Plumbing: includes the repair, replacement or installation of taps, pipes, water tanks, bathrooms, and car washing machines.
  • Electrical: includes the repair, replacement or installation of power switches, fuses, wall sockets, ceiling lights, ceiling fans, and air conditioning systems.
  • Drywall repair: includes filling in small holes caused by nails and minor dings from normal wear and tear.
  • Painting: includes minor touch-ups following damage repair and new coats of paint applied to unit walls.
  • Appliance repair: includes the repair, replacement, or installation of minor workshop appliances.
  • Grounds keeping includes mowing grass, trimming, and pruning trees and shrubs, sweeping, raking leaves, and clearing water ways.
  • Cleaning/housekeeping; maintaining a tidy appearance of the facility.
  • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries in line with EHS guidelines.
  • Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Vocational qualifications in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or masonry or similar
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools – hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
  • Experience performing routine facility maintenance.
  • Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked.
