Qualifications
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. For appointment to this position, a candidate
must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: – Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution;
  • Proficiency in computer applications;
  •  Good analytical skills;
  •  Knowledge of statistical analytical software packages;
  • Good writing and communication skills; and Satisfy the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Statistician will report to the Manager, Research and Statistics and will be responsible for the following:

  • Set up control procedures for receiving data and take necessary action;
  • Statistical analysis and data management;
  •  Develop appropriate survey questionnaires for data collection;
  • Collect, collate and store constituency data for analysis;
  •  Check, clean and prepare the data for analysis;
  •  Actively interrogate the data for discrepancies, errors, and missing data, in order to verify its accuracy and validity;
  • Analyse data, discuss and interpret results and prepare appropriate reports;
  • Prepare and submit reports on specific assignments;
  • Update the organisation’s statistics database; and Any other duty as may be assigned by the supervisor

Duly executed self-declaration form from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission;

Clearance from Kenya Revenue Authority;

Clearance from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);

Clearance from a reputable Credit Reference Bureau.
