Matibabu Foundation is a registered health facility based in Siaya County. Our focus is to improve the quality, affordability and accessibility of healthcare with more attention to the women and their families through offering affordable, facilities- based health care with extensive laboratory and pharmaceutical services.

We are hereby inviting qualified, talented and highly motivated candidates to fill the following positions;

Position: Chief Operations Officer /HR Manager (1)
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer
Chief Operating Officer (COO)/HR Manager

Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Operating Officer (COO)/HR Manager Position will provide the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the organization has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.

The COO /HR Manager will collaborate with the CEO on strategic planning, fundraising development, and financial growth plans. The position will serve as Deputy Director and only second-in-command to the CEO. S/he will be a member of SMT and in the absence of CEO, will preside over SMT meetings.

Responsibilities 

  • Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures that align with theorganization’s goals and objectives
  • Managing the talent management process, including recruitment, selection, onboarding, and determining hiring processes for new hires
  • Designing interview questions, conducting interviews, and creating employment offers and packages for successful candidates
  • Monitoring training needs and developing and managing employee training programs

  • Ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations, including health and safety rules
  • Managing employee compensation and benefits programs, including salary reviews and bonuses
  • Managing employee relations and conducting conflict management and resolution
  • Enforcing company policies and leading disciplinary procedures
  • Developing and managing performance management systems to track employee performance and conduct performance evaluations
  • Developing and implementing employee retention and employee engagementprograms to increase employee retention
  • Conducting employee surveys and analyzing the results to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Engaging in project management to devise new HR strategies
  • Managing employee records and maintaining accurate and up-to-date HR databases
  • Developing and managing employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive work environment
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in labor laws and regulations and updating HR policies and procedures
  • Managing HR budgets and providing reporting HR activities to the CEO
  • Providing guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related issues

Requirements:

  • MBA in Healthcare Management, MPH, or its equivalent 
  • Professional training in HR management and certification by relevant HR institutes.
  • Experience in both HR and operational management at level HR manager in a medium
  • size organization( 200+ employees) for at least 3 years
