Our client is an integrated Tech, Marketing and Communications Agency. They are seeking to recruit a suitable candidate for the position of General Manager who will be responsible for the day to day operations of the company and for the overall management. He/ She is responsible for driving Management to achieve the company’s objectives and goals, creating awareness to potential clients of the efficient services offered by the company.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Influence and lead the development and implementation of strategies to attract and secure events which bring significant economic and community benefits.
- Identify and create opportunities to grow existing events, create new events and retain existing events.
- Provide expert executive advice and support to the Board on events policy and facilitation to ensure the strategic integrity of the pipeline of events for the Events Calendar
- Build strategic partnerships with stakeholders in the industry to ensure that events are properly leveraged and are based on the broader objectives.
- Extensive business and relationship management of major partners including key public sector event support agencies, event owners and governing bodies, venue owners and managers, sponsors and promoters.
- Provide leadership and manage the operations and activities of the Event division including responsibility for reporting, financial and audit requirements.
- Manage the Division/Branch/Business Unit budgets and forecasts.
- Lead the development of business unit plans for the division and proactively contribute to corporate strategic planning processes.
- Providing organizational leadership and vision in developing and recommending to the Board annual business plans for the company;
- Defining and implementing business marketing strategies to increase business base and profitability;
- Establishing a systematic business scouting plan and leverage existing resources to maximize market coverage;
- Liaising with the Board to provide feedback regarding any trends, quality issues or areas of concern to ensure that prompt action is taken where necessary;
- Managing contractual budgets in line with financial targets;
- Ensuring all aspects of the required services are being delivered to the customers’ satisfaction and in accordance with the contract;

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Strategic Management from a recognized Institution.
- A Master’s degree will be an added advantage
- Have at least 10 years working experience with five years in management
- Experience working in and advertising agency will be desirable
- Possess good oral and written communication skills;
- Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and competence in the work performance;
- Possess the ability to maintain strict confidentiality;
- Be able to meet deadlines;
- Strong ability to prioritize and make independent decisions; and
- Ability to design and implement programmes and activities as required.
