Requirements
- Bea Kenyan citizen;
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from a recognized institution;
- Master’s Degree in Pediatrics and Child Health care from a recognized institution:
- Registered with the Kenya Medical practitioners and Dentists Boards;
- Registered as a Medical/Specialist Practitioner by Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council:
- Have a Valid Practicing License;
- Have a Recognition Certificate as a Specialist by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council;
- At least one year post specialization working experience:
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding and commitment to values and principles as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution;
- Must have good inter-personal and communication skills;
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Satisfy the requirement of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviewing patients and instructing in writing all the recommendations
- Performing general surgeries
- Diagnosing, investigating, treating and patient documentation
- Disseminating information for health care
- Conducting weekly clinics and theatre days
- Managing health facilities
- Responding to intern calls
- Training, supervising and mentoring (General Surgery Interns) and other students
- Performing emergency surgeries
- Undertaking medical legal duties
- Undertaking medical examinations
- Preparing Medical Board Proceedings
- Carrying out Community Diagnosis, care and treatment
- Ensuring data and information is collected, transmitted and utilized to benefit the customer and service provider.
- Conducting disease surveillance, prevention and control and
- Carrying out health education and promotion and preparing medical reports
- Any other lawful duties that may be assigned from time fo time.
