Medical Specialist I (Psychiatrist) – 3 Posts Job Kiambu County Government

Requirements

  • Be a Kenyan Citizen;
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from a recognized institution;
  • Master’s degree in Psychiatry equivalent qualification from a recognized institution:
  • Registered with the Kenya Medical practitioners and Dentists Boards;
  • Registered as a Medical/Specialist Practitioner by Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council:
  • Have a Valid Practicing License;
  • Have a Recognition Certificate as a Specialist by the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Council:
  • At least one year post specialization working experience;
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding and commitment to values and principles as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution;
  • Must have good inter-personal and communication skills;
  • Proficiency in computer applications; and
  • Satisfy the requiremeni of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Undertaking general diagnosis, care treatment and rehabilitation of patients;
  • Carrying out specialized clinical care;
  • Providing psycho-social interventions;
  • Providing clinical services to patients;
  • Training, consulting and performing surgeries in various health facilities;
  • Carrying out forensic and medico-legal services:
  • Coordinating disease surveillance, prevention and control:
  • Coordinating health education and promotion;
  • Implementing health projects and programmes;
  • Maintaining up-to-date health information systems:
  • Monitoring provision of health treatment and care;
  • Undertaking health research;
  • Analyzing medical reports; and
  • Any other lawful duties that may be assigned from time to time.
