Pre-Press Graphic Designer Job Corporate Staffing

Reporting to: Management Executive,

Gross Salary: Kes 80,000- 100,000

Our client is a manufacturer of FMCG products seeking to hire a Pre-Press Graphic Designer who will ensure execution of assigned duties in the packaging department.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing new product concepts as well as redesigning of existing that need enhancement.
  • Handling of all packaging files.
  • Coordination between suppliers to ensure precise, accurate & the best of quality printed materials.
  • Ensure the organization doesn’t incur avoidable expenses by properly advising on the direction to take when it comes to printing.
  • Liaising with the Quality Control team to ensure the quality of Packing Materials received is up to standard.
  • Layout parameters to be keenly followed before & during printing.
  • Coordinate Management’s preference for packaging materials.
  • Teamwork contribution when a task is assigned to ensure the best & fast-tracked development & deliverable of concepts.
  • Initiation of approvals of internal & reverted designs.
  • Checking, generating and maintaining barcodes.
  • New product design concepts and development and consistent follow-up with management to launch.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in Graphic Design 
  • 3+ Years of relevant experience in Pre-Press Printing firms, with relevant experience in Gravure/Flexo Printing
  • Excellent verbal/ written communication and presentation skill at all levels of the organization. Other Requirements: The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following personal traits:
  • Knowledge – expertise and experience in having a keen eye to detail when it comes to printing & designing. 
  • Efficacy and versatile, able to handle ambiguity and work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Mobile and flexible. 
  • Advanced knowledge in Designing software’s (Adobe illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After-effects & Premier
  • Ability to delegate tasks appropriately and trust team members to deliver on their responsibilities.
  • Encourages a collaborative environment, fostering open communication and teamwork.
  • Relating comfortably with people across all levels, functions, culture and geography, acting with diplomacy and tact and building rapport in an open, friendly and accepting way.
  • Building strong formal and informal networks, maintaining relationships across a variety of functions and locations and drawing upon multiple relationships to exchange ideas, resources and know-how.
  • Planning efficiently to ensure the Company doesn’t insure losses due to delayed approvals of designs as well as fast-tracking projects at the supplier’s level.
  • Flexibility to adjust to unexpected schedule changes or extended work hours as project demands shift.
  • Optimizing work processes by acting swiftly whenever a problem needs addressing or intervention from the management.
  • Identifying areas that need improvement, mitigate losses by prior identification of a potential blunder.
  • Ensure availability for OnLive print of new developments especially for critical jobs and new jobs.
