General Manager – Dar es Salaam Job Goldspace Consulting

The Role

Goldspace Consulting is recruiting for a leading Truck Transportation company based in Dar es Salaam – Tanzania, specializing in international cargo transportation to neighboring countries. We are looking for a highly experienced General Manager to lead and manage the company’s operations, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the operations of the truck transportation division, overseeing a fleet of 100+ trucks for international cargo.
• Develop, manage, and monitor operational and capital expense budgets in collaboration with the Managing Director (MD) and Finance team.
• Ensure timely and effective communication with all stakeholders, including clients, management, and staff.
• Address client inquiries, complaints, and special requests, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Identify and implement driver training programs, including advanced driver development.
• Drive business growth by maintaining and expanding the client base.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting the transportation sector.
• Oversee recruitment, testing, and appraisal of drivers and staff, ensuring the development of high-performing teams.
• Conduct regular staff performance evaluations and recommend professional development opportunities.
• Provide monthly progress reports to management on departmental performance.
• Perform any additional tasks as assigned by senior management.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience as a General Manager or Operations Head in a Truck Transportation company.
• Extensive knowledge of fleet management with at least 100 trucks handling international cargo.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and operational excellence.
• Business development experience with a track record of client acquisition and retention.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on customer service and operational efficiency.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.
