Service Center Manager Job Topking Tyre Center

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Service Center Manager to oversee the service center operations ensuring exceptional service delivery and a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all daily activities of the service center ensuring smooth operations across all departments, including customer service, queue management, mechanical repairs, tyre services, sales and maintenance tasks.
  • Lead and manage a team of service technicians and support staff. Conduct regular team meetings to review performance, provide training and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Establish departmental goals and performance objectives in alignment with company targets.
  • Regularly monitor performance progress and implement strategies to ensure goals are met or exceeded.
  • Prepare and manage the annual operating budget for the service center.
  • Develop and implement a marketing plan that promotes the service center and encourages both new and repeat business.
  • Customer service excellence: Act as the primary point of contact for escalated customer inquiries with the ability to influence, negotiate and resolve concerns effectively. 
  • Maintain high standards for service repairs and minimize the rate of customer returns. Conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs to ensure thoroughness and quality.
  • Develop and manage work schedules for staff. Delegate tasks to ensure that all jobs are completed on time and that the service center is operating at full capacity.
  • Monitor and manage the inventory of parts, tools, stocks and supplies, including products available for sale at the service center.
  • Safety & Regulatory compliance: Stay informed on all government regulations affecting service operations and ensure that the service center is fully compliant with all legal and safety requirements. 
  • Oversee the proper maintenance and calibration of all service center equipment, ensuring tools and machinery are in optimal working condition and meet industry standards.
  • Track daily sales, revenues and costs. Prepare reports on financial performance and meet or exceed financial targets such as sales goals and profit margins.
  • Continuously assess the performance of the service center. Identify areas for improvement in workflow, efficiency and customer service.
  • Maintain relationships with key vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and supplies. Negotiate better pricing when possible to reduce costs.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Automotive Engineering or a related field OR Diploma or Degree in Business Management (with technical experience in relevant field)
  • Minimum 5 years proven experience in the automotive service industry with 3 years as a Service Center Manager or a similar role
  • Knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, repair procedures and industry trends
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proficient in computer skills and using management software and systems
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and meet financial targets
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
