The ICT Technician is accountable to the ICT Manager and Head of ICT in the first instance, ultimately to the Headteacher.

Responsibilities
- To assist in the development of the ICT Department including but not limited to maintaining and updating ICT equipment, updating software, developing the Intranet, supporting the website as and when necessary;
- To take on new areas of responsibility in consultation with ICT Manager and Headteacher as they may develop;
- To sweep the school daily to fix basic computer related faults and errors;
- To respond to enquiries on ictsupport@kenton.ac.ke and itsupport@kenton.ac.ke;
- To be first point of contact in ICT related technical support issues, escalating more complex issues to the ICT Assistant Manager or ICT Manager;
- Provide in-class and in meeting support as may be required;
- Respond to iPad related issues escalating more complex issues to the ICT Assistant Manager or ICT Manager;
- To deploy mobile devices and administer the distribution of their apps;
- To provide hands on technical assistance to assemblies, plays, productions and other school events across all the sections of the school;
- Assist all staff in lesson preparation where necessary and give in lesson support when necessary;
- Attend school functions outside of school hours as required for ICT Support;
- Keep the school digital displays up to date as directed by the ICT Manager and ICT Assistant Manager
- Update and upload content to the school website as directed by ICT Assistant Manager;
- Assist staff in using the school management systems iSAMS, Google Workspace, or any other systems designated as a school system;
- Ensure up to date maintenance of the schools communications database and systems through Phone contacts, SMS, email or Parent Portal
- Assist in user management of the school Virtual Learning Environment Gsuite Workspace for Education;
- A full contribution to the life of the school, through areas not directly linked to ICT will be expected as determined by the Headteacher or ICT Manager.
