A prominent quarry company is looking for an experienced Head of Logistics to join their team. They will be responsible for leading the overall logistics operations, ensuring the seamless movement of Concrete, efficient resource utilization, and alignment with organizational goals. This role oversees strategic planning, fleet management, team leadership, and process optimization while maintaining high safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Logistics Management:
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with senior management to align logistics operations with organizational objectives.
- Fleet and Resource Optimization:
- Oversee fleet management to ensure operational readiness and timely deliveries.
- Monitor and manage vehicle performance, maintenance schedules, and fuel consumption to control costs.
- Implement and leverage fleet management systems for route optimization and performance tracking.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor the logistics team, including supervisors, drivers, and support staff, to foster a high-performing culture.
- Develop training programs to enhance staff competencies and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Manage team schedules to balance workload and ensure optimal resource availability.
- Operational Oversight and Process Improvement:
- Establish and maintain efficient processes for outbound logistics.
- Monitor logistics KPIs, including delivery accuracy, timeliness, and customer satisfaction, to identify improvement areas.
- Drive innovation in logistics operations through the adoption of new technologies and best practices.
- Customer Relations and Service Excellence:
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by maintaining consistent and accurate communication regarding delivery timelines and issue resolution.
- Address customer feedback and implement corrective measures to enhance service quality.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure all logistics activities comply with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies.
- Proactively manage risks related to transportation, inventory, and supply chain disruptions.
- Work closely with the maintenance and safety teams to uphold vehicle and personnel safety standards.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare regular reports on logistics performance, cost analysis, and strategic initiatives.
- Maintain comprehensive records of logistics operations, incidents, and compliance checks.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus. - Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years in logistics, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in managing large fleets and overseeing complex logistics operations.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in fleet management and supply chain optimization tools.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
