Job Overall

The Carpenter is responsible to carry out carpentry and painting works at the delegation and residences, under supervision.

Accountabilities & Functional responsibilities

  • Perform carpentry work as directed, carry out any repairs or changes to existing structures;
  • Assessment of materials and cost estimates required for a project;
  • Make different kinds of furniture/joinery with good finishes;
  • Knowledge of painting and varnishing work to any given item or building would be an added advantage;
  • Carry out painting tasks at the delegation and residence;
  • Appropriate use of the electrical equipment for carpentry i.e. planners, jigsaws, sanders, drill etc.
  • Any other tasks that may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum certificate in Carpentry and Joinery from a recognized Institution;
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C-(minus);
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position;
  • Previous working experience with International Organizations (preferred);
  • Good written and spoken English; 
  • Attention to detail and meticulous use of proper safety procedures;
  • Certificate of good conduct;
  • High degree of flexibility;
  • Computer Literacy.
