Duties and responsibilities
- Developing and implementing corporate communications strategy, policies and programmes;
- Promoting ICTA’s image;
- Publicizing the organization’s activities;
- Advising the Management on communication matters, solutions and best practices;
- Editing and production ofthe organization’s newsletters, magazines and brochures;
- Managing Media Information Service;
- Facilitating press conferences, official functions, visits, seminars, workshops, public relations exhibitions and other organizational social events;
- Preparing speeches, briefs, press supplements, press statements, news releases and feature articles;
- Liaising with the Government and other stakeholders on matters of concern to ICTA;
- Monitoring ICTA customer service levels;
- Collaborating with media houses for coverage of the organization’s events and raising public awareness of ICTA functions and activities;
- Providing critical analysis of news (press review) regarding the organization;
- Managing matters of corporate interest and corporate social responsibility programs; and
- Resolving media queries and complaints.
- Implementing on behalf of the Authority the access to information Act.
Qualifications
- At least nine (9) years of relevant work experience in Public or Private Sector, three (3) of which in Management;
- Bachelors degree in any of the following fields: – Communication, Public Relations, Corporate Communication, Journalism, Mass Communications or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
- Masters degree in any of the following fields: – Communication, Public Relations, Corporate Communication, Journalism, Mass Communications or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution;
- Leadership Course lasting less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
- Meets the provision of Chapter Six of the Constitution;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and
- demonstrated a clear understanding of the mandate of the ICT Authority and the role of Public Communication in the realization of the Authority’s strategic objectives.
