Duties and responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing corporate communications strategy, policies and programmes;
  • Promoting ICTA’s image;
  • Publicizing the organization’s activities;
  • Advising the Management on communication matters, solutions and best practices;
  • Editing and production ofthe organization’s newsletters, magazines and brochures;
  • Managing Media Information Service;
  • Facilitating press conferences, official functions, visits, seminars, workshops, public relations exhibitions and other organizational social events;
  • Preparing speeches, briefs, press supplements, press statements, news releases and feature articles;
  • Liaising with the Government and other stakeholders on matters of concern to ICTA;
  • Monitoring ICTA customer service levels;
  • Collaborating with media houses for coverage of the organization’s events and raising public awareness of ICTA functions and activities;
  • Providing critical analysis of news (press review) regarding the organization;
  • Managing matters of corporate interest and corporate social responsibility programs; and
  • Resolving media queries and complaints.
  • Implementing on behalf of the Authority the access to information Act.

Qualifications

  • At least nine (9) years of relevant work experience in Public or Private Sector, three (3) of which in Management;
  • Bachelors degree in any of the following fields: – Communication, Public Relations, Corporate Communication, Journalism, Mass Communications or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • Masters degree in any of the following fields: – Communication, Public Relations, Corporate Communication, Journalism, Mass Communications or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution;
  • Leadership Course lasting less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
  • Meets the provision of Chapter Six of the Constitution;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and
  • demonstrated a clear understanding of the mandate of the ICT Authority and the role of Public Communication in the realization of the Authority’s strategic objectives.
