Qualifications
For appointment to this position, a candidate must:-
- Be a Kenyan citizen
- Be in possession of a bachelor’s degree from a university recognized in Kenya. (A
- Master’s Degree will be an added advantage)
- Have a relevant working experience of not less than ten (10) years
- Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity
- Be a professional who demonstrates absence of breach of the relevant professional code of conduct Not a Public or State Officer
- Understand the diversity within the County
- Be visionary and a strategic thinker
- Capacity to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
- Meet other requirements as per Article 232 of the Constitution, Section 58 of the
- County Government Act, and other relevant laws.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Chairing meetings of the Board,
- Guide the Board in Exercising disciplinary control over county public service,
- Prepare regular reports for submissions to the county assembly on the execution of the functions of the board,
- Promote the County Public Service values and principles referred to in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010,
- Advice the County Government on human resource management and development,
- Advice the County Government on implementation and monitoring of the national performance management system in the county,
- Make recommendations to the salaries and remuneration commission on behalf of the county government on the remuneration, pension and gratuities for county public service employees,
- Perform other duties as per Section 59 of the County Government Act

- iAny of the registered credit reference bureaus;
- Directorate of criminal investigations (police clearance certificate)
- Letter of recognition of qualifications from the commission for university education (CUE) for any degree obtained from foreign universities; and
- Recommendations from relevant professional bodies (where applicable) or current membership/practicing certificate.
