Position Overview
The Transport and Logistics Officer is responsible for the management, coordination, and maintenance of the company’s fleet of vehicles. This role ensures the efficient and cost-effective operation of vehicles, compliance with safety regulations, and proper documentation related to fleet activities.
Role and Responsibilities
Work requirements and tasks will be guided by the laid down policies and procedures which is reviewed periodically but will fall broadly in the following Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs):
- Oversee daily operations of the company’s vehicle fleet.
- Ensure timely vehicle inspections, servicing, and repairs.
- Allocate vehicles efficiently to meet operational demands.
- Maintain up-to-date records for vehicle servicing, repairs, and schedules.
- Ensure vehicles meet safety, environmental, licensing, and insurance standards.
- Coordinate with service providers for regular vehicle maintenance.
- Supervise drivers’ adherence to company policies and road safety regulations.
- Track driver logs (hours worked, mileage, fuel, issues).
- Provide training for safe driving and vehicle care.
- Monitor fuel consumption and maintain fuel records.
- Implement fuel-saving strategies to reduce costs and environmental impact.
- Assist with the preparation of the annual fleet budget.
- Identify and minimize fleet-related expenses (fuel, repairs, maintenance).
- Maintain accurate records for vehicle service history, insurance, licenses, and accidents.
- Prepare regular reports on fleet performance, maintenance, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with transportation laws, vehicle registration, insurance, and safety.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure vehicles meet regulatory standards.
- Coordinate responses to vehicle breakdowns, accidents, and emergencies.
- Provide logistical support in unforeseen fleet-related challenges.

Experience Profile
- A diploma or degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience (at least 2-3 years) in fleet management or a similar role, preferably in the transport and logistics industry.
- Knowledge of vehicle and motorbike maintenance procedures and fleet management systems.
- Familiarity with road safety regulations and legal requirements for fleet operations.
- Experience in implementing and managing vehicle tracking systems for both cars and motorbikes.
