Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment, including hydraulic pumps and compressors, as well as heavy machinery equipment, i.e, Backhoe, Wheel Loader, Rollers, Generators, Light Vehicles, Canter, etc
  • Supervise daily mechanical maintenance operations and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Plan, schedule, and assign work to mechanical technicians, contractors, and support staff.
  • Monitor equipment performance and diagnose issues to prevent downtime and extend machinery lifespan.
  • Ensure adherence to preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Manage inventory and procurement of mechanical spare parts and tools.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and prepare technical reports.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to maintenance staff.
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., production, safety, engineering) to support overall plant operations.
  • Enforce compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum [5+] years of experience in mechanical maintenance, with at least [2+] years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, industrial machinery, and maintenance procedures.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) software.
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

Other Qualifications

  • Experience in [industry, e.g., manufacturing, oil & gas, power generation].
  • Certifications in maintenance or mechanical systems (e.g., HVAC, hydraulics).
  • Knowledge of lean maintenance principles or Six Sigma.
