To provide overall pastoral care to students to ensure that they are excelling in their academic and non-academic activities. Responsible for guiding students through the university application process. This involves analysis of a student’s aptitude and skills, discussion of university and career plans, advising on course selection and appropriate external exam qualifications, and timely completion of applications

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all parents and staff have comprehensive knowledge of the School’s Child Protection Policy and that all policies are implemented and followed.
- Follow up with new students on their adjustment to the school and in collaboration with the Infant Coordinator and AQCs, and provide support where necessary.
- Mentor and advise students who have serious disciplinary issues within the school with a view to maximizing learning and eliminating/minimizing bad behavior. This is to be done in collaboration with the Student Management Department and AQCs, keeping the School Director informed and involved as needed.
- Also, attend to all referrals from Senior Management [teacher may refer students through AQCs].
- Attend disciplinary meetings, as needed, especially meetings where parents are involved to discuss students’ behavior.
- Ensure a safe environment within the school by working with the Student Management Department to ensure that neither bullying nor fighting are taking place.
- Liaise with every child’s previous and future schools on any aspect of child protection.
- Be up to date in all aspects of child protection and safeguarding, and keep all courses and qualifications in date, including all relevant online courses as prescribed by the School Management.
- Meet with and evaluate students’ strengths, weaknesses, interests, and skills
- Identify areas for improvement i.e. behavioral issues, academic performance problems, and non-compliance with attendance requirements
- Arrange and schedule orientation programs and internships
- Strengthen relationship with universities to facilitate the admission process for SABIS® seniors
- Update regularly the SABIS® proprietary university contacts database
- Conduct extensive research including but not limited to university requirements, deadlines, acceptance criteria, etc. in order to provide students with relevant information and feedback
- Review students’ college essays and personal statements to ensure higher rate of acceptance
- Meet with parents to discuss their child(ren)’s options in relation to visa requirements, university choices, etc.
- Help students register for external exams to make sure they fulfill the admissions criteria prior to beginning the college/university application process
- Perform other related tasks or projects as they arise and as delegated by the school or SABIS® management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology/ Education
- Child protection certification
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the field
- English Proficient
- Professional Behavior and Ethical Conduct
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a Team
- Networking skills
