Regional Collections Manager Job Co-operative Bank

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage the Region’s debt portfolio to ensure that borrowers’ accounts are repaid in a timely manner on or before their due dates to maintain the Region’s PAR at 5% 
  • Accurate and timely issuance of Demand, Statutory notices on defaulted cases. 
  • Accurate and timely issuance of demand and repossession orders for defaulting asset finance cases. 
  • Foster good relationships between the Bank and the borrowers as well as potential customers, Business Bankers BMs and Regional Heads who are key stakeholders in the management of debt. 
  • Ensure all debtors’ information and collection efforts are made are inputted on E-collect system. 
  • Manage the region’s loans portfolio and support the Regional Manager & Branch Managers to manage the health of the book in the assigned region. 
  • Ensure customers are advised on repayment requirements on restructuring of facilities or upon change of interest rate or any terms to the facility and following up with Relationship Managers to ensure this is done and offer letter addendums are signed and lodged with the collateral department and a copy filed in client s’ credit file. 
  • Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Bank policies and Procedures. 
  • To provide increased support to the Sales team in driving sufficient portfolio monitoring of the lending book and ensure that the post-lending agreements and parameters are adhered to. 
  • Identify SME accounts which are incorrectly classified/assigned and recommend reclassification/reassignment to the correct ARO holder for effective relationship management and portfolio monitoring. 
  • Be the joint liaison person between Business and Remedial/Portfolio management in ensuring that the downgrade of names to recoveries is done on time and that customer files are availed to CMD for downgrade

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in a business-related field with at least 8 years’ experience in a branch/bank environment. 
  • Detailed knowledge of bank credit policy, products, services and policies 
  • Knowledge of Central Bank of Kenya Prudential Guidelines & Banking Act. 
  • Experience in Customer Experience and Relationship Management 
  • Good analytical, negotiations and financial analysis skills as well as an excellent communicator with the ability to set and meet stretch targets and deadlines. 
  • Demonstration of in-depth appreciation of operational risk and quality standards while driving service excellence. 
  • Excellent understanding of financial statements and credit products in the Banking sector.
