Role Summary

  • Responsible for the safe and punctual transportation of students, staff, and authorized personnel to and from school, events, and other designated locations. This role requires strict adherence to traffic regulations, commitment to passenger safety, and proper maintenance of the school vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport students and staff safely as per the designated routes and schedules, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the vehicle at all times.
  • Adhere strictly to Kenyan traffic laws and school transportation policies.
  • Report any mechanical issues or incidents promptly to the appropriate authority.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption and maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation, such as license’s and insurance are valid and up to date.
  • Provide assistance during school events, field trips and other activities requiring transportation support.

Qualifications

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education minimum of a C (plain).
  • Must have a valid Kenyan driving license with classes BCE endorsement.
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional driving experience, preferably in a school setting.
  • Certificate in defensive driving & First Aid will be an added advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and ability to perform minor repairs.
