Medical Oncologist Job Oasis Healthcare

Overall Responsibility

• The Medical Oncologist will be responsible for provide expert clinical care to cancer patients in a multidisciplinary team setting. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive oncology care, including cancer diagnosis, staging, and treatment planning.
• Counsel patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment options, side effects, and prognosis.
• Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and manage side effects of cancer therapies.
• Perform diagnostic procedures such as biopsies and bone marrow aspiration to diagnose patients with cancer.
• Provide palliative care and manage symptoms for advanced-stage cancer patients.
• Participate in clinical research and clinical trials to advance oncology care.
• Supervise and ensure the safe administration of chemotherapy in accordance with established protocols.
• Facilitate access to support services such as counseling, nutritional advice, and rehabilitation.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior medical staff, nurses, and allied health professionals involved in oncology care.
• Participate in training sessions and workshops aimed at enhancing the skills of the oncology team

Qualifications 

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from a recognized institution.
• Master’s Degree in Medical/Clinical Oncology
• Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council 
• Valid Practice License
• Current Professional Insurance Indemnity Cover.
