Responsibilities

The successful candidates will:

• Conduct routine maintenance in line with manufacturers’ recommendations and prepare the related compliance and calibration reports.
• Diagnose problems when machinery breaks down, decide the best repair methods and ensure repairs are carried out in a timely manner.
• Service and replace faulty biomedical equipment
• Ensure timely response to the job requests from the various departments
• Recommend outsourcing of works that are beyond the scope of internal resources and supervise outsourced contractors on site
• Requisition and ensure adequate stocks of supplies and equipment in the stores
• Prepare the biomedical budget and monitor its implementation upon approval
• Maintain up to date records of maintenance costs, incidents and procedures
• Ensure adherence to the PPM schedule and health and safety standards
• Hold daily and weekly operational meetings.
• Prepare Biomedical Reports monthly
• Train other staff on how to maintain and use machinery.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Applicants should have a minimum of a Diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a hospital setup.
• Experience with internal audits, Safecare Inspections or ISO inspections or JCIA inspections will be an added advantage.
• Registration with a professional body will be an added advantage.
