Charging Infrastructure Electrical Technician Job BasiGo

About the Role 

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Technician to help us expand our DC fast-charging network in Nairobi, Kenya. The Charging Infrastructure Electrical Technician will assist with the deployment, maintenance, repair, and operation of BasiGo’s high-power EV charging stations.

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform installation, testing, and documentation of high-power electric vehicle charging station electrical hardware.
  • Conduct onsite troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance for charging station equipment to ensure continual operation
  • Complete regular testing and fault isolation to enhance the safety and efficiency of charging stations and maintain compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
  • Respond promptly to unplanned and emergency issues. 
  • Carry out periodic inspections for the electrical network supporting the DC Fast Chargers
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering team on installations, upgrades, and repairs to continually improve designs and processes. 

Our ideal candidate would have: 

Experience & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience deploying and maintaining high-power electrical systems 
  • Electrical Installation Certificate – Electrical Technician part II or equivalent
  • Strong technical and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.
  • Dependable and self-motivated.

Other Requirements 

  • Capable of performing physically demanding duties, including lifting, bending, twisting, pushing/pulling, and standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to climb and utilise equipment on-site, including various ladders rated for 136 kilograms.
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time, which may include out of Nairobi
  • Lift at least 23 kilograms frequently.
