Graduate Intern -Electrical and Electronics Engineer Job E-Safiri
E-Safiri is looking to onboard a graduate electrical engineer with 0-3 years of experience and an understanding of solar PV installation for different applications, to support its expansion in developing the charging networks. As the intern you will support the analysis, planning, siting, and roll-out strategy for E-Safiri’s first-of-its-kind charging network in Kenya.

Responsibilities
- Design and supervise the implementation of solar/wind-powered charging infrastructure.
- Aid in the installation, connection, and commissioning of EV charging stations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Compile implementation project data and reports that will help inform technical and economic models that guide E-Safiri’s long-term charging infrastructure strategy.
- Siting and evaluation of potential charging depot locations relative to E-Safiri’s locations, including basic electrical load assessments and site suitability checks.
- Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on EV charging equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of construction activities, installation procedures, and site conditions.

Our ideal candidate should have:
Qualifications
- BSc. in Electrical and Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, or Mechatronics engineering (required).
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, safety protocols, and electrical standards in Kenya.
- Hands-on experience (internship or entry-level role) in electrical installations, preferably with solar or EV systems.
- 0-3 years of experience working in grid infrastructure, power systems, and/or Solar standalone/Mini Grid systems in Kenya with at least 1 of those years working as a graduate engineer (required).
- Experience in permitting procedures for solar projects.
- Ability to independently manage and execute technical projects with a small internal team and/or outside contractors.
- Be a graduate member with EBK or IEK.
- A valid T2/T3 Solar PV License is a plus
Preferred requirements are:
- Willingness to learn fast about electric vehicle technology and battery systems.
- Track record of design, installation, and maintenance for solar projects, both grid-connected and autonomous solar installations.
- Experience in the installation and operation of battery chargers for 2 & 3 Wheelers
- Experience with technical drawing software such as AutoCAD or DraftSight.

- Detail-oriented across all aspects of electrical engineering, planning, safety, and quality.
- Willingness to communicate with a variety of local and international partners.
