Clinical Officer (1) Job Matibabu Foundation

Matibabu Foundation is a registered health facility based in Siaya County. Our focus is to improve the quality, affordability and accessibility of healthcare with more attention to the women and their families through offering affordable, facilities- based health care with extensive laboratory and pharmaceutical services.

We are hereby inviting qualified, talented and highly motivated candidates to fill the following position

Reporting to: Clinical Officer in charge

The clinical officer observes, interviews and performs physical examination of sick and healthy individuals in all specialties and documents their health status applying pathological, radiological, psychiatric and community diagnosis techniques, procedures and findings to establish a provisional or final diagnosis and prescribe, initiate or carry out treatment.

Roles and responsibilities: –

• Diagnosis and Treatment: Clinical officers assess, diagnose, and treat common illnesses and injuries in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Patient Management: This includes taking patient history, conducting physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing treatment plans.
• Medication Management: They prescribe medications and manage patient medication regimens.
• Referrals: Clinical officers appropriately refer patients to specialists or higher-level facilities when necessary.
• Patient Education and Counseling: They provide health education, counseling, and support to patients and their families.
• Community Health: They participate in community health programs, including outreach and school health services.
• Maintaining Records: They ensure accurate and confidential patient records are kept.
• Supervision and Training: They may supervise and train other healthcare workers, including community health volunteers.
• Following Protocols: They adhere to established clinical policies, protocols, and guidelines.
• Ensuring Quality of Care: They contribute to quality assurance in healthcare delivery, including hygiene standards and efficient use of resource

Qualification / Requirements:

• Proven working experience in Clinical Department and General Management.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Duly registered and licensed.
• Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Strong report writing and record keeping ability.
• Good computer and database skills.
• Diploma from a recognized college in Clinical Medicine.
