Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Network Design and Planning, the Senior Network Design and Planning Officer duties and responsibilities will entail:

• Working closely with the Manager, Network Design and Planning to ensure network design and plans are properly aligned to achieve customer satisfaction.
• Create high level preliminary route design and facility specifics to manage fielding request instruction.
• Perform detailed OSP designs specifically adhering to design standards provided.
• Design civils and fiber optic infrastructure to agreed methodologies which are cost effective and fit-for-purpose within timescales that are suitable both for the company and the customer.
• Produce detailed industry standard design documentation of that design 24.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly execute on network design.
• Develop aerial and underground fiber route maps and executes tasks such as route analysis.
• Read, analyze and understand specific project scopes of work and translate into design requirements.
• Analyze network designs ensuring they are cost-effective, constructible and technically sound.
• Maintain familiarity with client requirements and adapt to new client preferences.

Key Qualifications and Competencies

• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Senior Network Design and Planning Officer OR in a comparable and relevant position from a reputable organization for a cumulative period of five (5) years, three (3) of which must have been in a senior management position
• Bachelor’s degree in Geospatial Engineering, Technology survey or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Proficiency design applications – Auto CAD, Arc GIS; Certified Fiber Optic Design (CFOD)
• Licensed by Communication Authority of Kenya (CA)
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Organized and detailed oriented person
• Interpersonal and communication skills;
• Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines;
• Ability to work under pressure;
• Ability to working in teams;
