Samburu Girls Foundation (SGF) is dedicated to improving the well-being of children, adolescent girls, and young women in Samburu County and its surrounding region of Kenya through education, health, and social support.

Key Responsibilities

Under the line management People and Culture Officer, the HR Assistant will be responsible for multiple HR tasks, in particular to:

  • Facilitate development, periodic review, and update of human resources policies and Human Resource
    Management
  • Ensure compliance with the organization’s human resource policies and procedures, labor laws and
    regulations, and other legislation.
  • Assist in responding to internal HR-related correspondences, inquiries, or requests.
  • Maintain records and files for short-term staff and update employee data and records (contracts, personal
    information, documentation, leave, etc.) in the human resource management system and files on a regular
    basis.
  • Assist in ad-hoc HR projects, like a collection of employee feedback and filing
  • Help in Coordinating the recruitment process, which includes management of the sourcing, interview, and
    selection of candidates.
  • Encourage team building and camaraderie through staff meetings, workshops, and outings
  • Manage staff welfare programmes including work-related counselling and stress management support and
    encourage work-life balance.
  • Assist in managing staff salaries and benefits structure and schemes; remuneration, allowances, leave, etc
  • Ensure Samburu Girls Foundation maintains adequate documentation for human resource processes.
  • Ensure Samburu Girls Foundation maintain adequate and up-to-date personnel records for all staff.
  • Maintain an effective Human Resources database.

Minimum Education, Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Degree in Human Resource Management
  • Certification in Human Resource Profession (CHRP) is an added advantage.
  • Registered member with IHRM
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to manage various relationships that exist in the organizations to achieve
    results
  • A strong team player with very good planning and organisational skills and the ability to take the initiative in the
    work area
  • Able to promote confidentiality and integrity.
  • Two (2) years, at least one year of experience in a similar position
