Job Summary

The MEARL Assistant will support the effective implementation of the organization’s Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Research, and Learning framework. The role will provide day-to-day assistance in data collection, entry, cleaning, analysis, analysis, and reporting to ensure accurate evidence generation and use for decision-making. The Assistant will also help strengthen accountability systems, documentation, and learning processes across projects and programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design, pilot, and administration of data collection tools including journalizing prompts.
  • Conduct routine data collection, entry, cleaning, and preliminary analysis.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the Indicator Tracking Table (ITT) and other performance monitoring
    tools.
  • Participate in monitoring visits, fieldwork supervision, and spot-checks to ensure data quality.
  • Contribute to project reporting by providing data summaries, visualizations, and basic analysis.
  • Support the implementation of feedback and accountability mechanisms to ensure community voices inform programming.
  • Support the collection and organization of qualitative and quantitative research data.
  • Contribute to the documentation of project outcomes, success stories, and impact narratives in collaboration with the communications team.
  • Conduct routine data quality checks and flag inconsistencies to the MEARL Officer.
  • Generate simple dashboards, reports, and visual presentations for program teams.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the MEARL Officer or line supervisor in support of the department’s objectives.

Minimum Qualifications and Details

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Project Management, Monitoring & Evaluation, or related field.
  • At least 1–2 years’ experience in M&E, data management, or research
  • Strong skills in data collection, entry, and analysis using tools such as Excel, KoboCollect, or SPSS.
  • Familiarity with MEARL frameworks, indicator tracking, and reporting processes.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
